Janne Buurman’s musical history starts in 1961 with his first band: The Flying Saucers. Janne was thirteen years old and played drums in this schoolband. A long list of pop groups followed: The Spectacles (all members wore glasses), Instant Music, Wham (George Michael was still in diapers), Zillion, The Tweeters, Neighbour, Balls, Hellsbells and the Bunnies, Soul Pirates, The Dogs, Jay Bee & The Royal Family en nowadays: Jay Bee Silverfox & His Free Radicals.
Prose & Poetry
Janne Buurman writes. All sorts of stuff. Prose, poetry, song lyrics, columns. At the age of nineteen he wins a literary award for his short Story ‘The Great Desire’, published by Meulenhof. Invited by Elsevier’s Weekly he spends three days in Amsterdam. He meets author Jan Wolkers, who shares his signing session (including each other’s books) at the 1968 Annual Book Fair in the RAI Conference Hall.
